Tri-City Public Library patrons now have access to the Cloud Library shared collection available to SHARE (Sharing Heartland's Available Resources Equally) member libraries in Illinois.
Established by funds provided by the Illinois State Library and Secretary of State Jesse White in the fall of 2013, the e-Read Illinois Cloud Library collection currently includes over 40,000 e-Book and eAudiobook titles.  Library users will enjoy the Cloud Library's user-friendly app and lending system.  Patrons can now borrow e-books and e-audiobooks from the Tri-City Public Library's online catalog (tcbp.illshareit.com).  The collection includes titles for kids, teens and adults and covers a wide range of interests in both fiction and non-fiction.  In addition, patrons do not have to worry about overdue fines, since items are automatically returned after the loan period (three weeks) is up.
The Cloud Library app is available from the iTunes store, Google Play and on yourcloudlibrary.com.  Cloud Library e-books are compatible with PCs, Macs, iOS devices, Nook tablets, Android devices and Amazon's Kindle Fire.  Users can download the app on up to six devices and can easily move from reading on a phone, to a tablet or to a laptop.
Tri-City Public Library also remains a participant in Library On the Go, a separate e-book consortium that it has been part of for several years.  Joining the Cloud Library offers you increased access to a wide range of reading and listening options.
More information is available in the handouts attached. The cheat sheet gives you basic information on where you can find the app for your specific devices.
