CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK, MAY 1-7
ONE WORLD, MANY STORIES
Children's Book Week is May 1-7 and is the longest running national celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. This May marks the 98th anniversary of Children's Book Week; the theme for this year's celebration is "One World, Many Stories."
The Tri-City Public Library will celebrate the week with featured children's books. Children and teens who check out books during the week will receive a free ice cream cone courtesy of Sonic (while supplies last).
On Saturday morning on May 6th, there will be a special reading time to share stories of children from around the world that will be aimed at young children. The reading will begin at 10:30 am at the Library. Special guest readers have been invited to share their love with books.
Children's Book Week is a cornerstone program of Every Child a Reader (everychildareader.net), a 501(c)(3) literacy charity dedicated wot inspiring a lifelong love of reading in children and teens across America.
