The Library staff have had many questions since the Governor announced a return to Tier 3 mitigation with a recent surge of COVID-19 cases.
A recent discussion with the Library Board of Trustees has led to the decision to continue to stay open as long as library patrons continue to observe and maintain their commitment to the guidelines provided by the Department of Public Health and CDC. We have been glad to see high compliance of mask-wearing and social distancing since we re-opening earlier this fall.
How long we will stay open is entirely dependent on our patrons. If you continue to do your best to comply with mask mandates, social distancing and hand cleaning, we will do our best to make ourselves available to you and your families.
The Illinois Heartland Library System has indicated that they will continue to provide delivery for now, so we can continue to provide access to library materials from other libraries as well as ours. If you are not comfortable with coming into the building, we can still provide you with curbside pickup. Please call when you reach our parking lot and let us know what vehicle to bring your items to by calling 217-364-8181. We can also accept your returns as well.
