The Tri-City Public Library is excited to announce the Library is reopening for Curbside Delivery.

Starting Tuesday, June 2, you will be able to pick up items that you have put on hold or ordered by phone or email. Curbside Delivery service will be available daily Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.

How do Hold requests and Curbside Delivery service work?

1. Find an item in the SHARE catalog and select the “Request It” button. Most items can be requested—including books, movies, audiobooks and Launchpads. You will only have access to material owned by Tri-City. You may also call or email the library to request items.
2. Call to schedule Curbside Delivery. You will be notified when your request is ready. Call 217-364-8181 or email us at tricitylibrary@gmail.com to schedule your Curbside Delivery. Staff will ask for your name, a description of your vehicle, and when you expect to arrive at the Library. They may also ask for your library card number.
3. We will get everything ready for you. Library staff will retrieve your items, check them out on your account and have them ready for you when you arrive.
4. Drive to the parking lot closest to the back door of the library. Call 217-364-8181 to let us know you have arrived. Staff will drop off the bag of materials close to your vehicle or you can open your trunk from inside your vehicle for contactless pickup.

The Library Building is still closed to the public.

Due dates have been extended. If you have items checked out, you may keep them at home until the stay-at-home has been lifted. In-person library programs and meeting room bookings have been cancelled through June 30. Since the Illinois Heartland Library System has suspended their delivery system, items from other collections will not be available.

Don’t forget that the e-library collections (Library on the Go and the Cloud Library) are available 24 hours each day.

Staff will continue to work to determine when and how we can safely open the Library. We are working to secure protective gear for the staff, installing shields for the checkout desk and rearranging furniture to encourage appropriate distances once people are back in the building.
