TRI-CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY TO REOPEN JULY 7
We look forward to welcoming our cardholders and others back to the library!
As Governor Pritzker’s plan to move into Phase 4 of Restore Illinois, we plan to reopen the library starting Tuesday, July 7, with some modifications to the services we offer.
LIBRARY REOPENING INFORMATION
Starting July 7, the library will be open and back to pre-pandemic hours:
- Monday: CLOSED
- Tuesday – Thursday: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Friday – Saturday: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
- SUNDAY: CLOSED
We have been reviewing best practices for creating a safe environment for both staff and community members. Our safety measures will include frequent cleaning and sanitizing of high-touch surfaces, plexiglass shields at the service desk, limited seating, all staff wearing masks, and providing hand sanitizer for customers. Only the front door will be unlocked to allow staff to better monitor visitors. Those using the handicapped parking in the rear of the building can contact the staff by telephone at 364-8181.
All our toys and puppets have been locked away and computers will be located at least six feet apart. For everyone’s safety, please wear your mask and stay 6 feet apart during your visit.
The Library is accepting returns. The outside book return is currently available. The Library will accept returns during open hours beginning July 7. Returned items are quarantined for 72 hours.
All in-person events are cancelled through Labor Day (September 7). We are currently reviewing the use of online programs that will allow us to do some virtual programming and a shortened summer reading program.
We will continue to offer curbside service once the library opens. You are welcomed to call or email us with your questions.
