Your Tri-City Public Library will host “HOMEWORK HANGOUT” sessions on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4pm starting August 28. This will be a time for students at Tri-City Schools, with the 2 pm dismissal, to come to the library and work on homework, play games, do crafts, and have snacks. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and forms are available at the library or at the Tri-City Schools. Emergency information and any special needs must be on file before a student can participate. There will be a $5.00/session/student to cover the cost of snacks and crafts.
This program is open to all students from Kindergarten-Jr High School and High School, but is primarily aimed at those involved in after school activities and do not have rides back to school at practice times. The first order of business after snacks will be to work on homework. This is a good time for high schoolers to get their service hours. Volunteers will be needed to supervise homework and the crafts.
Plans are being made to have transportation available to and from the school, and to have knitting classes and crochet classes held during this time. An additional charge will be made for those students who choose to take one of these classes.
If you have questions, want to enroll your child, or would like to volunteer to help, please call the library at 364-8181 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
