The Tri-City Public Library will be offering a series of programs, activities and prizes for this year’s summer reading program. Beginning on Wednesday, June 8 and running until Saturday, July 30, the library will be offering a wide range of activities on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer.
This year’s theme is “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” The focus will be on summer camping, outside activities, food, animals, music and crafts. The June 8 kickoff will feature the Richard Landry and Snow Ball Magic Show. After that each Wednesday there will be a variety of activities, from camping demonstrations, fire safety demonstrations, campfire songs with Marty Morris and we will welcome the first day of summer with free Kona Ice treats provided by the Library. The final Saturday, we will welcome artist Michael Albert for a workshop of collage art followed by an ice cream social.
Summer reading registration will begin May 31. The primary audience focuses on elementary-age children but the evening events are open to the general public.
