Welcome

The Tri-City Library District selects, acquires, organizes and provides access to books, magazines, cds, dvds and other materials of interest and/or permanent value. These items provide for the educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of the surrounding areas users. The Library also promotes the importance and appreciation of reading and community involvement from childhood through adult programs.

The Tri-City Library District site also serves as a central repository and online community center. We want everyone to look beyond the books and see the library as an important resource in the Tri-City area.

Next phase for library service coming JUNE 15th

SuperUser Account 0 4112 Article rating: No rating

Effective June 15, the Illinois Heartland Library System will start up interlibrary loan delivery service again. The request system will once again be turned on so you can order items we do not own locally. The delivery service will be temporarily halted the last week of June to reevaluate any issues of driver or library employee safety but with luck will start up again by July.

By that time, the state and the library may be ready for phase 4 of reopening. We are still trying to access PPE for staff and patron use. The supply chain seems to be loosening up again after the initial “out-of-stock” runs.

On behalf of the entire Tri-City staff, we want to say we miss our patrons and friends and look forward to the next phase of re-opening.

The books range from picture books to young adult non-fiction on a wide range of topics such as astronomy, nature, biographies of scientists and doctors, mathematics, engineering and computing. There are also science-based fiction books for young readers to encourage curiosity about science and related topics.
