Adults coming to our library can find current authors and bestselling titles as well as many old favorites and classics from the past.

Also available are public access internet computers where one can look up information, fill out a job application, check email, or etc. And if you have your own computer or device, Wi-Fi is available.

However, we have much more to offer, as part of the community we have groups for all walks of life to engage in socialization, so whether you enjoy fishing, needle work or have small children we have a group of like minded people getting together to enjoy their hobbies to match yours.

Homework Hangout

Your Tri-City Public Library will host “HOMEWORK HANGOUT” sessions on Wednesday afternoons from 2-5pm. This will be a time for students at Tri-City Schools, to come to the library and work on homework, play games, do crafts, and have snacks. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and forms are available at the library or at the Tri-City Schools. Emergency information and any special needs must be on file before a student can participate. There will be a $5.00/session/student to cover the cost of snacks and crafts.

Tri-City Public Library Appoints Heather Humphrey to Vacant Trustee Position

The Tri-City Public Library District Board of Trustees will welcome Heather Humphrey of Buffalo to its Board at their next board meeting in August. Ms. Humphrey is a parent of a child currently attending Tri-City schools and is employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Ms. Humphrey was selected to serve an unfilled board vacancy and will serve a two-year term.

New collection of "STEM" books added to the Library

The Tri-City Public Library has recently added a significant number of books for kids K-12 on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) books. Most of the titles were selections from the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) "Best STEM Books" for 2018 and 2019.

The books range from picture books to young adult non-fiction on a wide range of topics such as astronomy, nature, biographies of scientists and doctors, mathematics, engineering and computing. There are also science-based fiction books for young readers to encourage curiosity about science and related topics.

There's only so many things you or your kids can do around the house before the words "I'm bored" are inevitably heard. So maybe it's time to hit up the library and check out not only a book but also all the activities we have. We've got puzzles, game systems, computers, internet, lego, puppets and more.
